The Fort Atkinson Community Band has announced that it will be holding a concert titled: “Been There, Done That,” Monday, June 20, in Barrie Park.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.
According to information released by band director Wayne Crook, a variety of music has been selected for the enjoyment of people of all ages.
The concert is free and open to the public. Some chairs will be provided and concert-goers also may bring their own chairs.
Barrie Park is located at 210 Robert St., in Fort Atkinson.
Monday’s concert is the first in a series of summer band concerts, according to information released by the band in April.
Additional concerts are slated for July 4, July 18, Aug. 1 and Aug. 15. All concerts will be performed in Barrie Park from the community bandshell.
The Fort Atkinson Community Band is a community concert band comprised of about 45 volunteer musicians.
“One of the main purposes of organizing the band back in 1960 was to give musicians the opportunity to continue or revive performing in a concert band setting after the high school or college years. Also the band presents a great opportunity for high school age students to gain much experience performing with experienced adult musicians and seeing lots of band literature for musical development,” information supplied by the band in April stated.
