Cassiday, who serves as an assistant vice president for business banking at Johnson Bank, will serve a five-year term.
He was nominated for the position by members of the Fort Atkinson City Council and will be taking the seat which was previously held by the foundation’s 2023 chairman, Sue Johnson, the release stated.
“Robert will be a wonderful foundation board member. His strong background in finance and his enthusiastic adoption of the Fort Atkinson community will serve the foundation well,” Johnson was quoted as saying in the release.
About Cassiday
According to the release, Cassidy was born and raised in a small farming community in west central Illinois. He graduated from Monmouth College in 1999. After graduation, he spent 24 years assuming various leadership roles in the retail and financial services industry, eventually settling in Madison for ten years. He began his career with Johnson Financial Group in Fort Atkinson in 2018.
“After only a few months and a personal tour of the community and history lesson by (local historian) Joel Winn, my heart knew where my home needed to be and we moved to Fort Atkinson in 2019,” Cassiday recalled within the release.
Cassiday has served the community in several capacities, the release stated, including as a member of the city council’s Loan Review Committee and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and has served the Fort Atkinson Youth Soccer Association as a team manager. He also is a 2020 graduate of the Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce’s Project Lead program.
Cassiday enjoys reading, biking and tackling DIY projects at home. He is the father of three sons, Ryan, who is a student at Lawrence University in Appleton; Andrew, who is a junior at Verona High School, and Michael, who attends the Fort Atkinson Middle School.
Cassiday, within the release, said: “It is an honor to be appointed and serve on the board of directors for the Fort Atkinson Community Foundation. Over the last five years, I have witnessed the positive impact this foundation has had on our community. Since 1973 the organization has helped to cultivate, support, and enhance the lives for those (who) call Fort Atkinson home. Through the generosity of area residents from the past, present, and future, it will be a privilege to continue to carry out the vision of a better community.”
