Cooper announces campaign for Jefferson County Board

Wyatt Cooper, a resident of Fort Atkinson, has announced that he will be running for the 29^th Supervisory District seat on the Jefferson County Board. The 29^th District is one of 30 supervisory districts represented by a nonpartisan elected official. It is comprised of those individuals residing within the boundaries of the city of Fort Atkinson Wards 5 and 6.

“My campaign will be focusing on three things: Lower taxes, transparency, and economic growth. I continue to have conversations with residents about their increases in taxes, and no one is happy. We need to stop taxing people out of their homes. Our government needs to find a way to lower the tax burden on our residents so they can afford to stay in Jefferson County,” Cooper said within the announcement.

If elected, Cooper plans to draw on his experience as a local real estate agent with Fort Real Estate Company to champion policies that attract businesses, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth in the county. Additionally, Cooper’s work in state government over the last five years has heavily involved listening to the needs and concerns of Wisconsinites, no matter what side of the aisle they fall on. Bringing this valuable experience to the county board would greatly benefit the residents of the 29^th Supervisory District, the announcement stated.

Within the announcement, Cooper noted: “As an Eagle Scout, I’ve learned to place value in honesty, community, and public service.

“Do you currently know what is going on in our county government? If the answer is ‘no,’ then consider the fact that we need increased communication and transparency from our elected officials. I hope to earn your vote this spring.”
