Dorothy L. Klug, 93, of Fort Atkinson whose life was a testament to love, faith, and thoughtfulness, completed her earthly journey on Monday, October 14, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Dorothy was born on January 7, 1931, in Fort Atkinson, daughter of the late Eli and Florence (Wendt) Alexander. She attended St. Joe’s and Fort Atkinson High School thru 11th grade.
On June 12, 1987, she married Daniel Klug, he preceded her in death on September 22, 2001.
For many years, Dorothy was a dedicated employee at McCain Foods, where she formed lasting friendships and memories before her retirement in 2001. Those who knew Dorothy will fondly remember her as an avid reader who cherished her Saturday Morning Coffee Clutch gatherings and the camaraderie of retirees from McCain Foods.
Family was Dorothy’s cornerstone; she took immense pride in the achievements and blossoming of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her steadfast devotion also extended beyond her kin to her church community, which she held close to her heart.
Dorothy is survived by her granddaughters, Kim (Darick) Colson and Greta (Tares) Figueroa; great grandchildren, Palyn Lean, Dustin (Krista) Lean, Crystal Colson, Tiffany Colson, Zachary (Catalina) Colson, Jordan Figueroa, Andrew Figueroa, Jocelyn (Alex) Stratton and Evan (Cori) Figueroa; great great grandchildren, Isabella and Lucy Lean, Calypso, Magnolia, Indigo and Eevee Rangel and Brinley, Emilia and Koda Colson; numerous nieces and nephews who were very special to her as well as her very special friends, Deb Rohloff and Doris Klug. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Kienbaum; brothers, Richard, David and Jerry Alexander and sisters, Donna May Alexander, Caroline Baker and Beatrice McCormick.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be from 9 AM at the church until the time of the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
