The Dwight Foster Public Library, 209 Merchants Ave, Fort Atkinson, has announced its November programming and events.
The following opportunities are designed for families and children:
Storytime
The library will offer several “storytime” programs in November, with each designed to appeal to kids of varying ages. Among such programming is “Toddler Time,” which will be held each Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the library. “Family Storytime” will be held on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in the library. In addition, “Baby Time,” also will be held at the library on Thursdays at 10 a.m.
Further, “Pajama Storytime” will be held Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 6:30 p.m. Families are invited to arrive in their pajamas and participate in songs and stories led and read by a librarian.
The library, according to its release, will also be hosting “Sensory Storytime,” which is designed to appeal to neurodiverse children. The program, which will be held once a month, is a “more open and sensory-friendly environment,” the release stated. In November, the story time section will be held on 1st, at 1 p.m. Looking ahead, the release noted that there will not be a story time held in December.
Art Club for Teens
The library’s Art Club for Teens invites students in grades 6-12 to bring a project or use supplies provided by the library to make a creation. Participants can expect to find such supplies as coloring sheets, glue, and markers, among others, according to the release. Participants also will be treated to “light snacks.” The club will next meet on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 4 p.m.
Lego Club
The program invites Lego enthusiasts to join as a group and build a Lego creation. The project is guided by a theme, and will be held Monday, Nov. 20, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Creations built by the group will be placed on display at the library.
Lunch Bunch for Homeschoolers
Lunch Bunch for Homeschoolers is a program designed to help families who homeschool meet other homeschooling families. The program will be held Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The program invites participants to bring a lunch to the library to enjoy while staff members read books, share library resources and offer time to chat and socialize, according to information released by the library.
Play Pokémon
Play Pokémon offers participants an opportunity to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game with other Pokémon trainers. The program is offered Monday, Nov. 27, from 4 to 5 p.m. Participants are invited to come to trade cards and, for beginners, learn how to play the game. The activity is recommended for kids between the ages of 7 and 12, according to the release.
