Faith Community Church in Fort Atkinson has announced it will be offering a free end-of-life seminar.

According to information released by the church, the seminar will be held at the church, W5949 Hackbarth Road, Saturday, April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The seminar also will be live-streamed through the church’s website: https://fccfa.com/End-of-Life-Issues-Seminar.htm.

Topics include:

• A devotional titled “What Grabs Your Attention?” by Faith Community Church’s health nurse, Shirley Brown, RN, BSN.

• “Rainbow Hospice and the Dying Process” by Rick Anschuetz, retired family physician and volunteer for Rainbow Hospice Care.

• “Honoring Choices: Health Care Power of Attorney” by Jan Karlen, retired social worker. Volunteers with Fort HealthCare will help attendees complete their medical directive.

• “Wills, Trust and Estates” by attorney Karen Riemer, senior trust officer at Badger Bank.

• “Funeral Homes and Cremation” by Marty Daniels of Nitardy Funeral Home.

• “Elderly Scams” by Capt. Brandon Sachse of the Fort Atkinson Police Department.

Included topics are important for people of all ages, the release stated, further noting: “You should complete these documents when you are healthy and have the time to think about them before you make the decisions. It will ease the stress and pressure to learn about these documents and complete them before the crisis. When you are in the crisis, then you can apply the principles concerning these documents to the situation.”

The seminar is open to all adults, no matter their age.

The release continued: “Unfortunately, accidents can happen at any age and people need to make their wishes known on a legal document in order for their wishes to be carried out.”

According to the release, online registration is encouraged, although persons may attend even if they are not registered.

For more information, contact Shirley Brown by phone: 920-542-8781 or the church office: 920-563-4730.
