The Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce has announced it will be hosting the third annual “An Evening in the Garden.”
The event will be held on two dates, both Thursdays, including June 29 and Aug. 3. Both events will be held at Blodgett Garden Center, 1222 Janesville Ave., Fort Atkinson, from 5 to 8 p.m.
According to a recent news release from the chamber, the events are free, open to the public, and will feature live music, along with opportunities to purchase items from food vendors, wares produced by area artisans, and produce provided by area farmers.
According to Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Shawna Wessely, two bands will play simultaneously Thursday, June 29, between 6 and 7:30 p.m., each located in separate areas of the venue. Ad Hoc Trio will play from a location near the nursery area and Zack D. will play from a location near the venue’s greenhouse, she said.
In addition, the event will include beer tasting, which will be held June 29, and wine tasting, which will be held Aug. 3.
Tickets for each tasting event — beer or wine — are $20 per person. Those purchasing tickets must be of legal drinking age, the release notes. The tasting events are hosted by the Rotary Club of Fort Atkinson and will be held in the garden center’s greenhouse. Proceeds from the tasting events will be used to support international and local projects, the release stated.
Those interested in purchasing tickets are encouraged to do so online at https://aneveninginthegarden2023.eventbrite.com or at the event.
Questions about the tasting events can be directed to the club through its website: fortrotary.org, or by calling: 920-563-2478.
According to Wessely, beer and wine tasting events will be made available to ticket-holders during the full course of the event.
While parking is available in front of the garden center, it may be limited. Additional parking will be available in lots across the street from the center at Endeavor Business Media, 1233 Janesville Ave., and CubeSmart Self Storage,1425 Janesville Ave., the release continued.
According to information shared with Fort Atkinson Online last year, the event is a specialty market designed to offer opportunities for those who may not be able to visit the Fort Atkinson Farmers Market, which is held during warm-weather months each Saturday morning in a city-owned central parking lot across the street from the Fort Atkinson Post Office.
