The Kiwanis Club of Fort Atkinson has received a donation made by Fort HealthCare through its Frosty Rock Challenge program, according to information released by Fort HealthCare.
The Kiwanis Club was the recipient of $1,500, with those monies resulting from a portion of registration fees provided by those who participated in the 12k trail run, 5k run and 1-mile kids run organized through the program last year.
Monies will be used by the Kiwanis Club to support park improvement projects, according to the release.
A presentation during which members of the Kiwanis Club were awarded the funds was held Monday, Feb. 6.
As noted in the release, last year’s Frosty Rock Challenge was held in November.
The event includes in-person opportunities to participate in the three races, and virtual options to participate in the 12k and 5k races.
“The challenge promotes health and well-being in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere and provides an opportunity for FHC to give back to the community,” the release stated.
In 2023, the event is planned to take place Saturday, Nov. 11.
“Kiwanis was honored to partner with FHC for the Frosty Rock Challenge, providing a great opportunity for community members to organize for a fun family friendly event. We are very excited for the next Frosty Rock Challenge … and are already working on ideas on how to make it another amazing event for Fort Atkinson,” Gregory Klug Jr., president of the Kiwanis Club of Fort Atkinson was quoted as saying in the release.
“We are grateful for Kiwanis’ partnership in the Frosty Rock Challenge. Partnering with local organizations on community wellness programs helps bring the community together and lead us all closer to fulfilling FHC’s vision to be the healthiest community in Wisconsin,” Tiffany Pernat, Community Health and Wellness Department coordinator noted in the release.
