Fort library board of directors seeks new members

The Dwight Foster Public Library Board of Directors has announced that it is seeking new members.

Four members of the board are serving terms that expire in June.

According to information released by the board, the library is directed by a 10-member, volunteer board.

Applications submitted by those interested in becoming board members are reviewed by the Fort Atkinson city manager and the executive director of the library, after which applicants are recommended for appointment by the Fort Atkinson City Council.

Board members meet monthly and serve for three-year terms. Monthly meetings typically last about two hours, the release noted.

In addition, board members may serve on committees of the board, including those of Building and Grounds, Finance, Personnel, Policy, and Planning.

While terms for board members begin in June, the board recommends those interested in applying for a board position submit an application by May 1. More information about the board and its application process is here: https://www.fortlibrary.org/library/board-staff/.
