The Fort Atkinson Parks and Recreation Department has announced it will be hosting an event titled: “World of Wheels.”
The event will provide truck enthusiasts of all ages an opportunity to climb inside various cars, trucks and emergency vehicles for an up-close glimpse into the world of big trucks and equipment.
World of Wheels will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., at Ralph Park, 600 Jefferson St.
The event is free and open to the public.
According to the release, “The park will be invaded by various emergency vehicles, race cars and work vehicles … Children will have the opportunity to get in the driver’s seat of their favorite car or truck. The first 100 kids in attendance will receive a gift bag with various car- and truck-related items.”
The full lineup is anticipated to include vehicles from the Fort Atkinson Police Department, Fort Atkinson Fire Department, Fort Atkinson Department of Public Works, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, W&A Distribution, Dousman Transport, Klement Towing, Chase Gronert, Ozinga and GFL Environmental, the release stated.
Vehicles planned for display are working vehicles and therefore the lineup may be subject to change, the release noted.
Businesses interested in bringing vehicles, including tractors and race cars, to the event are encouraged to contact the Fort Atkinson Parks and Recreation Department by phone: 920-397-9910 or email: BFriese@fortatkinsonwi.gov.
