Lauren Blevins has been sworn in as Fort Atkinson’s newest police officer, according to information released by the police department Monday.
“We’ve had a lot of change going on in the last couple weeks with retirements, but with retirements come new people. Lauren is a great example of the success of our internal mentoring as she progressed from intern to community service officer, then code enforcement specialist and now police officer at the Fort Atkinson Police Department,” Fort Atkinson Police Chief Adrian Bump was quoted as saying in the release.
Blevins began working with the department just after graduation from Cambridge High School. She attended Winona State University, graduating in 2021, and graduated the Police Academy in December 2021.
Blevins was sworn in during a small ceremony with the support of her family and friends, and members of the Fort Atkinson Police Department, Fort Atkinson City Council, the Police and Fire Commission, and city staff, according to the release.
