Fritz George Weitendorf, (70), of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on October 19, 2023.
Fritz was born in 1953 in Northern Illinois to Fritz and Barbara Weitendorf, where he spent the first 18 years of his life. He attended Larkin High School and graduated in 1971. As a student, he excelled in playing golf and basketball where he lettered in those varsity sports. After high school graduation, Fritz headed to UW-Whitewater where he majored in business. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and enjoyed a strong bond of brotherhood with his fraternity brothers, several of whom became lifelong friends. Fritz graduated in 1975 with magna cum laude honors. Later that summer, Fritz and his college sweetheart, Kathleen married. They would go on to have two children and remain married for 23 years. Fritz spent the vast majority of his professional career at Continental Western Insurance Company, where he was the Wisconsin State Sales Manager. He was proud of his work, so proud that even retirement didn’t stop him, and he began to work for Image of Wisconsin as a consultant. In recent years, Fritz found his partner, Lisa. Though his last years had been hard health wise, Fritz was able to find joy with his family and friends.
Fritz was the son of Barbara and Fritz Weitendorf and brother of Joanne (Weitendorf) North. Fritz is preceded in death by his parents, sister, and two grandchildren Charlie and Evelyn.
Fritz is survived by his son, Fritz (Rachel) and daughter Angie (Doug), his grandchildren – Theo and Charlotte, as well as his fiancé, Lisa Pastula.
Fritz was an avid golfer, he loved traveling, Badger football and hockey games (and tailgating), throwing a fishing lure in the water with his son and closest friends, attending Packer games, and entertaining family and friends. Fritz was a popular man, had a loving family and many friends who cherished him. While Fritz left us far too soon, the impact he had on our family will be felt for years to come. Fritz and his storytelling will be dearly missed, but we will strive to keep his traditions alive.
Fritz’s family will host a celebration of life service on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson where family and friends are invited to gather at 10:00 am through the time of the service.
