Jefferson County Fair Park officials have announced that Sammy Garvey will serve as fair coordinator.
According to information released by Fair Park Director Becky Roberts, as coordinator Gavey will be responsible for overseeing the operations and logistics of the annual Jefferson County Fair, including organizing exhibitor participation, coordinating entertainment and events, and fostering community engagement.
Garvey has a background in education and music, which, the release noted, will combine with her commitment to teamwork and organization, making her “an asset to the Fair Park and its community.”
The release read: “Sammy will bring her extensive experience in education and event coordination to lead the upcoming fair and support Fair Park operations while ensuring smooth, successful events for all participants and visitors.”
Garvey is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, holding a degree in music education.
She has developed her leadership skills through various teaching and administrative roles, the release stated, adding that she has served as an administrative assistant for the Jefferson County Fair Park, “where she provided essential support to exhibitors, facilitated a major camping organization system for events like the Sheep and Wool Festival, and coordinated entry processing for fair exhibitors,” according to the release.
Additionally, the release noted, her experience includes directing school concerts, organizing auditions, and working with teams to ensure successful and cohesive performances across three elementary schools in the Jefferson area.
“I am thrilled to step into the role of fair coordinator. The Jefferson County Fair has been a pivotal part of our community, and I look forward to continuing the tradition of making it an inclusive and enriching experience for everyone involved,” Garvey was quoted as saying in the release.
