The Grow Solar Waukesha, Jefferson program has reached over four-fifths of its goal, according to program organizers, including Fort Atkinson-based nonprofit organization Heart of the City.
As the program attracts more participants, the rebate earned by all participants grows larger, organizers have announced in a recent press release.
Achieving the full goal will offer participants a maximum rebate, the release states.
Homeowners are able to join the program until Oct. 31.
The program is coordinated by the Waukesha County Green Team, Heart of the City in Fort Atkinson, Midwest Renewable Energy Association and All Energy Solar.
To learn if a property is a good fit for the program, homeowners are encouraged to visit allenergysolar.com/jefferson-waukesha where they can request a consultation from All Energy Solar, the company working with the program to install solar panels on area homes.
Residents of Waukesha and Jefferson counties qualify for the special solar group-purchase program that makes switching to solar more affordable, the release stated.
Those engaged with the program will have the resources of solar power industry professionals working with the group as they move through the installation process.
Guidance from the Grow Solar initiative includes entering the Grow Solar program, applying for additional incentives, securing financing, array design, installation, and customer support for the lifetime of the system, according to the release.
A variety of solar credits, rebates, and incentive programs are available, including:
• A 26% federal tax credit for solar panels installed in 2021 and 2022.
• Focus on Energy Wisconsin offers a $500 credit for residential solar installations, and businesses could get up to $50,000.
• Some local Wisconsin utilities offer solar incentives.
