Three members of Fort Atkinson’s Heart of the City will be presenting a seminar at PBS’ Wisconsin Garden and Landscape Expo in Madison, according to information released by the nonprofit group.
Frankie Fuller, Margaret Schroeder and Barbara Brouwer will present “Bee-friendly: How ‘No Mow May’ Protects Pollinators and How You Can Be Part of the Solution” when the expo takes place at the Exhibition Hall of the Alliant Energy Center, Madison, Feb. 11-13.
The No Mow May seminars will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, 2:15 p.m. Saturday and 12:45 p.m. Sunday.
No Mow May is becoming a common and recognizable phrase, but a lot of people still don’t know what it means. Different groups throughout the state and country are promoting No Mow May as a simple step in which everyone can participate in the effort to save and increase the number of pollinators, the release stated.
Due to the success of the No Mow May initiative in Fort Atkinson last May, Heart of the City members said they are motivated to spread the word on how others can implement a No Mow May program in their city in 2022, the release explained.
The decline in numbers of pollinators is approaching a crisis situation. Every person’s contribution to the well-being of the natural environment is significant, the release continued.
Details about vendors, speakers, schedules and programs are available at the expo website at https://wigardenexpo.com.
