Hebron ‘Street Dance’ slated as fundraiser to improve Town Hall Museum parking lot 

Community members within the village of Hebron have organized to present a “Street Dance,” with proceeds used to replace the blacktop parking lot at the Town Hall Museum. 

According to information released by the dance’s organizers, the event will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., on Museum Street, in the village’s downtown, between Pete’s Place and the Town Hall Museum.

Attending the event is free and it is open to the public.

Proceeds from food sales and raffle tickets will be used to support the improvements to the museum’s parking lot, an organizing spokesperson, Olive Gross, said.

Attendees will find music provided by the 4-piece Third Chair Band between 2 and 5 p.m. The band plays a mix of country and rock music, the release stated.

Additionally, attendees will find food offered for purchase throughout the course of the event.

Two restaurants, including Wicked Smoke BBQ, which will offer sandwiches for purchase, and Pete’s Place, which will offer pizza for purchase, are found near the dance site, the release noted.

Beer, soda and water will be made available for purchase throughout the day.

The Town Hall Museum will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Inside the museum, visitors will find tickets for sale for an 80- by 100-inch quilt donated by Jane Strunk of The Quilt Patch in Hebron. The quilt will be on display in the Museum, the release noted. 

A selection of gift baskets, presented for raffling, will be on display at Chapel 1899, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m, according to the release.

Drawings for the quilt and gift baskets will be held at 3:30 p.m., the release stated, adding that ticket holders do not need to be present to win.

A 50/50 raffle drawing will be held at 6 p.m. Ticket holders will need to be present to win, the release read.

Sponsoring businesses and organizations of the event include: Wicked Smoke BBQ, Pete’s Place, Chapel 1899, tents by Rick Jelinek, Lon’s Johns, Northwest Services/Ron Bennett, the Hebron ATV Club, the Hebron Snowmobile Club, and the Hebron Community Church.

Additionally, the release noted, local residents will serve during the event as volunteers.
