James William Strohbusch

James “Jim” William Strohbusch, 67, formerly of Jefferson, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 16 at his home in Ellenton, Florida.

Jim was born Feb. 22, 1957 to William “Bill” J. and Mary Strohbusch. He grew up in a lively neighborhood in Jefferson, where his parents settled after Bill’s return from military service.

Jim was a spirited individual, often indulging in playful mischief. An accomplished musician, Jim’s talent shone brightest when he played the drums. As a lead drummer for Jefferson High School, he showcased his skills at the state solo and ensemble competition. Even when he dropped a drumstick during a performance, he carried on seamlessly after someone handed it back to him, earning a first-place medal for his unwavering composure. The pinnacle of Jim’s drumming career was when he performed with Tommy James and the Shondells.

Jim is survived by his mother, Mary; sister, Linda Teed; brother, Steve Strohbusch (David Kiernan); and his children, Dylan Liebhart, Justin (Gina) Strohbusch, and Hunter Strohbusch. He was predeceased by his father, William; and brother-in-law, Pat Teed.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1660 Endl Blvd., Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, with Msgr. Donn Heiar presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
