Jefferson County parks volunteers sought

The Jefferson County Parks Department is seeking volunteers to complete several projects in local parks, ranging from removing invasive plants and planting trees to hauling gravel.

“Volunteers continue to be an essential part of the development and maintenance of our system of parks and trails and below are a few of the projects you can help us with today,” said department program assistant Mary Truman.

Volunteers should bring gloves, safety or sunglasses, closed-toe shoes, drinking water, sunscreen and a snack.

Volunteer waivers must be signed prior to starting. Anyone under age 18 must have an older an adult with them for signature.
