Jefferson County public libraries will be hosting the Glacial River Memory Café Project.
According to information released by the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Jefferson County, programming will be offered at the Dwight Foster Public Library, Fort Atkinson; Jefferson Public Library, Jefferson; Irvin Young Library, Whitewater, and Powers Memorial Library, Palmyra. Participating libraries have joined the Library Memory Project to provide rotating memory cafés at locations throughout the county.
The program kicks off Sept. 13, with the first café scheduled to take place at the Jefferson Public Library at 10:30 a.m. The cafe’s theme will be “school days.” Participants should plan to attend in person.
While the cafés are held in Jefferson County, anyone can attend, according to the release. Residency in Jefferson County is not required.
Memory Cafés are social gatherings for those living with early to mid-stages of memory loss or dementia and the people who support them. They provide fun activities and good conversation.
