Twelve Jefferson downtown merchants have announced that they will collectively be hosting an event called “Meet the Makers Day.”
Demonstrations, offering a look at how things are made will be offered by members of the group, informally organized under the title: “Merchants of Downtown Jefferson.”
Meet the Makers Day will be held Saturday, April 15, throughout the downtown area in the city of Jefferson, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Within a recent news release, group member and owner of downtown shop Twice Baked Pottery, LLC, Scott Obernberger said that while April 15 will be the first time the event is being held, the group is making plans to host it annually.
“This event will be a great opportunity to see all of the amazing things that are made right here in downtown Jefferson. With more than a dozen participating locations offering demonstrations throughout the day, we are inviting everyone to come into our stores and studios to see first-hand how we make our products — whether it is wine, sculpture, laser-cut wood signs, jewelry, pottery, home goods, or delectable treats,” Obernberger was quoted as saying in the release.
“This is a family-friendly event, (offering) a chance for you to bring your children to downtown Jefferson and have them learn about the craftsmanship and the art of production that takes place here every single day,” Amy Maresch, owner of Vintage on Main, said within the release.
