Jefferson Police respond to scene of ‘self-inflicted knife wound’

The City of Jefferson Police Department reported Friday that it responded on Thursday to a scene involving a “self-inflicted knife wound.” 

According to a statement released Friday by the department on its Facebook page, police responded Thursday to an address in the 300 block of North Pleasant Avenue at approximately 9:15 p.m. to a “reported domestic dispute between two individuals.” 

“A male subject was reported being armed with a knife,” the statement noted, adding that police arrested a 39-year-old male suspect at the scene. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital for injuries described by the police as “self-inflicted knife wounds.” 

The statement noted that the case remains under investigation by the Jefferson Police Department, pending charges of “disorderly conduct with a domestic abuse enhancer.”
