The Jefferson Area Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Alden Estates and Eby Family Dental, both of Jefferson, has announced that “Boo Bash,” a downtown trick-or-treating event, will be held Thursday, Oct. 17.
In its fourth year, the event will be held between 4 and 7 p.m.
Including the aforementioned sponsors, according to the chamber’s website, some 34 organizations will be participating in the event.
Participating businesses will be made identifiable to trick-or-treaters through the placement of Boo Bash signs in storefront windows.
According to information released by the chamber, most of the businesses participating in the event will be handing out treats from their brick-and-mortar downtown Jefferson locations. Additionally, the city’s Firehouse Alley, between the BP Gas Station and FOCUS Coworking, will be closed to traffic, allowing some businesses to hand out treats from booths within the space.
The event embraces the concept of “Cans for Candy,” developed to help stock the shelves of the Jefferson Area Food Pantry, the release noted.
Event-goers are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item to the Jefferson Area Food Pantry booth in Firehouse Alley. On the pantry’s wish list are such items as mac and cheese, pasta, marinara sauce, tuna, ketchup, salt, taco seasoning, and cereal.
This year, event-goers will find a new attraction: the M.Bell Horror Haus, offered inside Shine Realty. Built and orchestrated by “kids from Lake Mills,” the release described the group as “young entrepreneurs” who “participated in the Jefferson Children’s Business Fair held in April.” During the fair, the group was awarded first place within its age bracket, the release stated.
A map, offering the location of each participating business, will soon be published on the chamber’s website: https://business.jeffersonchamberwi.com/events/details/boo-bash-downtown-trick-or-treating-2024-7099?calendarMonth=2024-10-01.
Those with questions about the event are encouraged to contact the chamber by phone: 920-674-4511.
