Jennifer Ellen Gusse Lowry, 59, of Milton, WI, passed away June 18, 2024, at home after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Jennifer was born June 11, 1965, in Freeport, IL, to David Gusse and Charlene Krum. She graduated from Dixon High School in 1983. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Northern Illinois University. Recently, Jennifer was attending The Master’s University working toward a master’s degree in Biblical studies.
Jennifer married Andy Kallas in 1988; they later divorced. She married Richard (Rick) Lowry November 6, 2004, in Milton, WI. Jennifer had a successful business career in the food industry working for Dow, Dean Foods, Sara Lee and Griffith Foods. She finished her career at Edlong as the vice president.
Jennifer and Rick attended church in Fort Atkinson and in 2008 were called by God to begin a faith and food ministry called Feed Your Soul. FYS prepares and serves meals to the community to share the love of Jesus Christ. This outreach ministry changed Jennifer. She met and developed relationships with people she would have never met otherwise. These friendships were such a blessing to her. She wrote weekly faith messages to encourage and teach each person about Jesus. Jennifer and Rick recently expanded this ministry to Janesville through Faith Community Church.
Jennifer loved spending time with her family. She was the favorite aunt – fun, funny, genuinely interested in their activities, and ready to listen and share advice and wisdom. Jennifer was Weemie to her grandchildren, who she dearly loved. Jennifer and Rick loved entertaining friends and family. Doing morning Bible study and cooking good food with her Little Honey were her greatest joys.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, Rick; four children, Haley Lowry of Austin, TX, Lindsay (Stuart) Ostby of Rochester, MN, Jacob (Kellett) Lowry of Atlanta, GA, Sunny (John) Flores of Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her father, David (Judy) Gusse of Dixon, IL, stepfather Ronald (Linda) Krum of Mt Carroll, IL; two sisters, Anne Barlow of Marshfield, WI, and Susan Miller of Normal, IL; two brothers, Mark (Rachel) Gusse of Omaha, NE, and Matthew (Colline) Gusse of Dixon, IL; Jim (Diane) Lowry of Phoenix, AZ; twelve nieces and nephews. Jennifer was preceded in death by her mother, Charlene Krum and mother-in-law, Betty Lowry.
Visitations are Friday, June 21, 2024, at 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson, WI, and 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Faith Community Church, Janesville, WI. The funeral is Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Community Church, Janesville, WI. A visitation at 10:00 am precedes the funeral service. A family burial service will be held at Milton Junction Cemetery, Milton, WI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Feed Your Soul (www.feedyoursoulwi.com).
