‘Love Your Neighbor’ food drive nets donations

The second annual “Love Your Neighbor” food drive was held Saturday, Feb. 12, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School, according to a news release.

The food drive was held to benefit the Fort Atkinson Food Pantry, David Frohmader, chairman of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Board of Outreach, reported.

Volunteers were on hand at the church between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to accept donations from the community.

“This was a drive-in/drop-off event, which made it very convenient for food donors,” the release stated.

The donated food was delivered to the food pantry, Monday, Feb. 14.

Donations collected filled three large food pantry carts, which, the release noted, was “one cart greater than was donated last year.”

St. Paul’s also received monetary donations on Sunday via a free-will offering box, which was also donated to the food pantry.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School offered its thanks to the Fort Atkinson Community for generously donating to the food pantry, which, the release stated, is in “one of (its) leaner months.”
