Lukas Robert Hartwig, 35, went to be with Jesus March 9, 2023, at his residence in Fort Atkinson. He was born on February 6, 1988 to Robert and Leanne (Kutz) Hartwig.
Lukas attended special education classes at Fort Atkinson High School and graduated in 2009.
Lukas liked school, social activities, animals, music, and the outdoors. He also enjoyed travel in his younger years. He was well known for his big, contagious, smile, which helped him to touch the lives of many.
He is survived by his parents, brother, Noah (Danielle Garza) Hartwig of Fort Atkinson and sister, Bethany (Aaron) Tranel of Kieler, WI.
He was welcomed to heaven by his grandparents Carl and Dorothy Hartwig and Leon E. and Katherine Kutz.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. on Friday at the church until time of service. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Thank you to all the caregivers who were part of Lukas’ life, during his childhood, at home, and through adulthood, living in his own apartment. You made it possible for him to live his life fully and always surrounded by love. We will be forever grateful.
