Michael S. Stockfisch Sr, 78 of Marshall, WI passed away on June 12,
2024 at his home with loved ones by his side.
Michael was born on August 31, 1945 in Fort Atkinson, son of the late
Stanley and Esther (Moore) Stockfisch.
After graduating from Fort Atkinson High School, he enlisted in the
United States Army and served his country in Vietnam. Michael retired
from the Army as Sergeant First Class (E-7) after 25 years, 2 months,
and 25 days of service.
On September 27, 1997, he married Jeannette Gayton at St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson. She preceded him in death on June
10, 2021.
Michael’s zest for life was infectious, and it was through his
favorite pastimes – hunting, fishing, camping, and riding his Harley
Davidson – that he expressed his deep love for the great outdoors. A
loyal fan to the end, Michael could often be found cheering for the
Packers and Brewers. During the winter months, Michael and Jeanette
became snowbirds, migrating to the warmth of Arizona. Their dogs,
Harley, Sandy, and Molly were more than pets; they were their constant companions.
Michael is survived by his children, Susan (William) Thomas, Sandra
(Jeff) Cummings, Terra (Russ) Olsen, Melissa (Chad) Johnston, and
Michael Stockfisch Jr.; stepchildren, Kari (Tony) Nichols, Kenny
(Carmen) Lovaas and Kevin Gayton; many grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Stockfisch; sister, Debi
Faultersack and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Michael was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Wilkenson,
his daughter, Tammy Stockfisch, and stepchildren Sherry Dunlavy and
David Gayton.

at the Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson, with Rev. Ray Bezanson
officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. on Saturday until the
