The Milton School District will hold an induction ceremony recognizing six people to receive inclusion on its new “Wall of Honor.”
The wall, which was part of renovations recently completed at the Milton High School, was created in recognition of former students, alumni, staff and community members who have distinguished themselves through academic, artistic or athletic achievements or by contributions to their profession.
The ceremony will be held Thursday, Oct. 13, in the Milton High School Performing Arts Center, at which time the six inductees — the first to receive the honor — will be recognized. They are Mabel Maxson, Wally and Faye Schilberg, Bill Shadel, State Rep. Don Vruwink and Doug Welch, according to a news release.
The ceremony will be followed by a reception in the high school’s event commons. A recognition ceremony also will be held at halftime during the Oct. 14 football game at Anderson Field.
Members of the Milton High School Marching Band participate in a community parade. The school will soon be honoring its first set of inductees for placement on its new Wall of Honor.
