The Whitewater Arts Alliance has announced that the “Music and Art Wonder Club,” a program designed to teach creative coping strategies to adults and youth, will once again be hosted at the Whitewater Cultural Arts Center, 402 W. Main St., Whitewater.
According to a news release, the program, which is led by music therapist Noelle Larson, will be presented Saturday, Jan. 21, from 10 to 11:15 a.m.
The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Those interested in registering may use the following link: https://bit.ly/3X054WF.
The event marks the second time Larson has led the activity in collaboration with the Whitewater Arts Alliance at the Whitewater Cultural Arts Center. Participants are asked to gather in the gallery, found on the center’s second floor.
As stated in the release, art therapy is meant to help both children and caregivers experience a world of creative fun while also learning strategic coping mechanisms.
Workshop participants will use musical instruments and create colorful sculptures made from dough and child-safe materials. Sculptures can be taken home the day of the event.
Larson has been described in media-based literature as having a passion for helping clients and participants to “connect, thrive, and come alive through music.” Through her programming, she helps her clients to strengthen family relationships, learn adaptive coping strategies, and experience “wonder and joy” through the delight of participating in live music-making.
