Nico Jameson Licary

Nico Jameson Licary was embraced with open arms into this world on September 6th, 2020 by his loving parents, Ashlee Crigger and Paolo Nunzio Licary.

Nico is the light of our lives and our purpose for being. No words can express just how much joy he brings and how grateful we are for him. He has the most enjoyable, playful, and happy personality with a smile that floods your heart with love.

He gave love freely by coming in for hugs whenever he saw our outstretched arms, then saying “awww”. He warmed our hearts while in our laps or arms and we would ask him “do you want to get down?” and he would say “no” in the most content, sweetest tone imaginable and we would share a look that makes you realize what the point of life really is. He blows the best kisses when saying goodbye.

Watching you grow, smiling and laughing with you, holding you in our arms, seeing the sparkle in your eye, knowing you were deeply loved by us and you loved us in return, made every new day with you the best day of our lives.

He makes us proud with how smart he is, being able to focus intently on what he was trying to learn and figuring out all of the toys and books we gave to him. Any project his father would work on he is right there grabbing tools and trying to do the work too.

He makes us proud with how brave he is, with awaiting outstretched arms, he had the courage to push himself off the ledge of a tall slide or even the edge of a swimming pool. You trust us and we love you for it.

He makes us proud with how curious and exploratory he is. He loves climbing everything. He always pushes his boundaries while frequently looking back to us for reassurance that it is ok to keep going.

He makes us proud with how giving and selfless he is, happily sharing everything he has with us and his dogs. He even learned how to please our dogs by throwing the ball to play fetch and petting and hugging them.

He makes us proud with how well behaved he is, never causing a scene in public or having tantrums, sleeping contently all night in his crib, playing independently with his toys, and allowing us to make cross country drives with almost no crying or unhappiness.

We were so excited and hopeful for the beautiful lives that awaited us.

On Friday May 27th, 2022, Nico Jameson Licary, our cherished and only son, unexpectedly passed away at 20 months old. Survived by his large loving family of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Until we meet again, our beloved son, oh that we will hold you again, tell you we love you, hug you and kiss you, make you feel our unending love is all we want in this world and the next. We will love you and miss you for every moment of our lives.
