Nordahl ‘Nordy’ Wesley Wenham

Nordahl “Nordy” Wesley Wenham passed away on September 3rd, 2024, 1 day before his 76th birthday. Nordy was born on September 4, 1948 to the late Wesley and Elaine (Stork) Wenham of Fort Atkinson.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl Nordeen Hartman Wenham and 2 daughters, Jackie (Steve) Prisk and Heather (James) Gwaltney along with his grandchildren Thomas (Tiffany) Prisk and their 2 children Braxton Nordahl and Harrlow Ann, Tyler (Hailee) Prisk and their 2 daughters Emberlee Ray and Addison Judith and Tyson (Sophie) Prisk, Katelyn (Brock) Goulet with daughters Ashlynn Grace and Bryleigh Mae and Austin (Anneliese) Gwaltney with their two daughters Gracelyn Elaine Noelle and Kennadi Marie. He also has many nieces and nephews that he treated as his own. He is survived by 2 sisters Gloria Wenham and Lynnette (Gilbert) Alvarado. The amount of people that he “adopted” as his own are endless.

Nordy started driving semi when he was just 17 years old owning his own business through the years until he sold it to Tom and Tiffany whom he was hoping to watch carry on his legacy.  He retired with the roll of “consultant” so he could spend all his time with his family and on days he wasn’t physically with them he would FaceTime numerous times a day. The great grandkids just lit him up.

He married the love of his life, Cheryl on January 11, 1968 and started the best legacy of all, his family who meant more to him than anything.

His life was full of adventure including traveling, being crew chief for the NASCAR Busch series, national tractor pulling, racing, building high performance motors, helping everyone else with their builds, mowing the neighborhood farms and ditches. He always found something to do.

He would tease people incessantly which sometimes made him somewhat misunderstood, but he had the biggest heart of gold!

In the trucking world he was a legend by so many, often being referred to as the best mentor and teacher.  Everyone he knew learned a little bit of how to be a rebel and also how to give the best they could to all.  His family has been reminded recently that he knew more than most people forgot in a lifetime. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11 at Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. There will be a gathering at the Country Inn and Suites afterwards. For those that do not wish to go to the cemetery, you are welcome to wait with refreshments starting at 2 p.m.
