Palermo’s Pizza opens second production facility in Jefferson 

Palermo’s Pizza announced Wednesday that is has begun pizza production at a second facility in the city of Jefferson.

According to information released by the company the facility is slated to produce 50 million frozen pizzas per year.

According to the release, a “launch celebration” was held Tuesday commemorating the facility’s opening.

The new facility is located at 1015 Industrial Ave., and was formerly used as a food processing plant, the release stated.

Palermo’s has since added equipment to allow for a production capacity including two pizza topping lines.

We are proud to be a part of Palermo’s growth and success and look forward to a long partnership,” Tim Freitag, Jefferson city administrator, was quoted as saying in the release.

As stated in the release, the project, which was announced in February, used Wisconsin-based contractors and companies to complete the work of retrofitting the building for frozen pizza production.
