On Wednesday, March 31, the Fort Atkinson Parks and Recreation Department hosted “Easter Eggspress,” a drive-through event at Ralph Park from 3 to 5 p.m. The event was held in place of the usual Easter egg hunt due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For $5 each, families could pick up a kit that included 10 filled eggs, Easter crafts, puzzles and games. Then, the Easter Bunny hopped up to their vehicle for a photo to be posted online.
Makayla Thoma, Parks and Recreation Department administrative assistant and program director, distributed the kits alongside Brooke Franseen, department director, while Brett Ketterman, department youth director, snapped photos, respectively.
Ketterman said they had 300 kits ready, with an extra 75 stuffed plastic eggs on hand in case they ran out.
