Post 1879 Auxiliary donates nine books to library

The Auxiliary to the Edwin Frohmader Post 1879 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars has donated nine children’s and young adult books to Fort Atkinson’s Dwight Foster Public Library, 209 Merchants Ave. 

The organization continues its tradition of donating books, as it also donated six similar books to the library in 2021.

This year’s donation includes such titles as: “Lucky Broken Girl,” by Ruth Behar; “Chester Nez, and the Unbreakable Code,” by Joseph Bruchac; “Enchanted Air,”by Margarita Engle; “Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History,” by Vashti Harrison: “Little Legends: Exceptional Men in Black History,” by Vashti Harrison; “It’s Up to You, Abe Lincoln,” by Tom and Leila Hirschfeld; “I Am Walt Disney,” by Brad Meltzer; “Chasing Lincoln’s Killer,” by James L. Swanson, and “Turning Pages: My Life Story,” by Sonia Sotomayor.

The books are donated as part of the auxiliary’s Patriotism Through Literacy project, according to a recent news release.

The donation was made earlier this month.
