Rock River Dental has announced that it will be holding a “Holiday Food Drive,” with contributions going to the Fort Atkinson Food Pantry.
Non-expired, non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the dental office, 1951 Commerce Parkway, during regular business hours, until Dec. 3, according to information released by the company.
The dental office is open Mondays and Wednesdays, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Fridays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Requested food pantry items include pancake syrup, pancake mix, canned chicken, hamburger helper, boxed pasta, peanut butter, pork and beans, canned fruit and vegetables.
“Food insecurity continues to be an issue in Jefferson County and the COVID-19 pandemic has only amplified this need as people experience increased financial strain and unemployment. The Fort Atkinson Food Pantry has seen an increase in pantry usage,” the release stated.
According to the release, staff at Rock River Dental will participate in the drive and Dr. Leslie Showalter has pledged to match pound-for-pound donations made by patients and community members.
