Roy Richard Fietzek

Roy Richard Fietzek passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 12, 2024 at the age of 77. Roy was born on March 15, 1947 in Dousman, WI, to Jake and Edna (Turner) Fietzek and joined his big sister, Patricia Dillin.

Roy enlisted in the Army and worked as a mechanic from 1966 until he was honorably discharged in 1968. He went on to work for Krause Blacktopping alongside his best friend, Crop, until the business closed in 2011. He “retired” for a short time before going back to work for Hausz Brothers until he officially hung up his boots in December, 2023.

Roy married the love of his life, Patricia Gnabasik on October 5, 1968 where they celebrated 47 years together before her passing. Together, they had 3 beautiful daughters, Michelle Hall, Teresa (Lee) Keeser, and Jennifer (Eric) Nokes. They were blessed with 8 grandchildren, Ryne and Nathan Hebbe, Jack and Tyler Nokes, Tristan Keeser, Morgan (Chase Hellenbrand) and Logan Hall, and Jordan (Nick) Gallert, and 4 great-grandchildren, Violet Hall, Emmy and Wyatt Hebbe and Valkyrie Gallert.

You could find Roy tinkering in his garage, at the casino, spending his Sunday nights at Angell Park Speedway for his beloved midget car races, fixing something for one of the kids or grandkids, or sitting in his garage waving to all who passed by.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Pat, brother-in-law Rodney, niece Jane, great nephew Russell, and many others. He is survived by nephew, Jim (Cora) Dillin, great nephew, Andrew, sisters-in-law Genevieve (Don) Wanke and Mary Baxter, and many others who loved him dearly.

A special thank you to his neighbors Luis and Mallory, Dan and Jenny, Alex and Ericka, and Gene and Heidi, and his best friends, Don Hausz and Steve Mashe.
