Russell Jay Thompson

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Russell Jay Thompson on December 27, 2022.

Born March 8, 1962, to Ervin O and Alma I (Monroe) Thompson.  He was surrounded by his loving partner of 36 years, Pamela Strasburg, and loving family.  

Russell graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1980.  He was a lifelong resident of Fort Atkinson except for a short time in Adams-Friendship, WI and Yreka, CA.  

Russell listened to Country Music, watched NASCAR, the Green Bay Packers, and Western Movies.  He liked going to Jones Park for Baseball Fest, Car Shows, to the Jefferson County Fair and to the races at the Jefferson Speedway.

Russell is survived by his life partner, Pamela Strasburg, brother, Roland (Dude) and his wife Marie Thompson of Westfield WI. Five Sisters, Roxana Theilig, Rhoda Kincaid, Rhonda Wilson (Salem, IL), Rena (Bill) Murray, and Regina (Jimmy Lee) Dittman, all of whom reside in Fort Atkinson, WI.

One of his greatest joys was his nieces and nephews.  April (Brandon) Lynch and their children Logan and Annabelle, Lake Mills, WI., Allie Murray (Auston Young) and their girls, Adelyn and Kaleigh of Fort Atkinson, WI., Katie Anne Wilson of Salem, IL., Jamie Thompson, North Pole, AK., Richard Thompson, Jefferson, WI., and Joel Kincaid and his daughters Kaprice and Kaydence.

Russell is preceded in death by his parents Ervin O and Alma I (Monroe) Thompson, Brother Rodney (Wally) Thompson, Brother-in-laws Roger Theilig, and Larry Wilson, Sister-in-law Connie Thompson and Nephew Cody Dittman. 

Russell will be greatly missed by his many friends and relatives too numerous to mention.  Rest in Peace.  Life is but a journey and you are finally home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 7, 2023, visitation at 11:00am service at 12:00pm at Fort Christian Assembly, 212 Talcott Ave, Fort Atkinson, WI.  Pastor Donald Younger officiating.  Food and Fellowship will follow at the Church.   

Dunlap Memorial Home is assisting the family.
