Schoolhouse photos, clippings sought by resident for inclusion in museum project

Letter to the editor:

A group of former country school students organized the “Country Bells” celebration on July 27, 2019. Under the guidance of Radio Ron Stelse, we celebrated the history of the 132 rural one-room school houses in Jefferson County.  Since the celebration, I have received numerous pictures and other one-room school house historical memorabilia from former students and family members.  My plan is to continue to collect any Jefferson County one-room school pictures, books, and newspaper articles of other interesting items; therefore, while sorting through family belongings, be on the look-out for some of these treasured historical items. The entire one-room school house collection will be donated to the Hoard Museum at a later date. You may contact me by email: brownjs@gdinet.com with any findings or questions. You may also drop off findings at the museum, labeled with my name.
