The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Monday released a statement noting that Kevin P. Anderson, a suspect in a double homicide case, remains at large. The department is seeking the help of those participating in hunting activities this fall.
Additionally, the office stated that the Jefferson County District Attorney Monica Hall has filed charges against Anderson, including those for the death of Nedra J. Lemke and James H. Lemke, which include: two counts of first-degree murder intentional homicide, one count of attempted intentional first-degree homicide, one count of arson, and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.
The charges stem from crimes committed on June 16, 2020, information released by the sheriff’s office stated.
As stated in the release: “Our agency has continued to follow up on leads generated from multiple states and cities across the country. As hunters spend time in the wooded areas of Jefferson County, specifically around State Highway 106 and County Trunk A, we ask for your help in watching for anything that may lead to a conclusion in this case.”
The release noted that the suspect remains at large and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
The suspect is described within the release as a white male, in his mid-60s, 6-feet tall, and weighing about 200 pounds. He has blue eyes and “balding brown hair.”
“If you see Anderson, do not approach him, and immediately contact local law enforcement,” the release stated, adding that anyone who believes they have seen the suspect or may have knowledge of his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office by phone: 920-674-7310.
