The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the Jefferson Police Department each responded to a report of shots fired at two locations, according to information released by the two agencies Tuesday.
The first incident occurred in the town of Azatalan on Monday at approximately 8:06 p.m., according to Jefferson County Sheriff Paul Milbrath and City of Jefferson Police Department Chief Alan Richter.
A second incident occurred Monday at approximately 8:34 p.m. in the city of Jefferson, the release continued.
Both locations were described by law enforcement as occupied residences, with the agencies further reporting that no injuries were reported from either residence.
As stated in the release: “These incidents are believed to be target(ed) and neither Jefferson Police Department Chief Richter nor Sheriff Milbrath believe that there are on-going safety concerns for the general public.”
Both incidents are under investigation, the release noted.
