UW-Whitewater provost finalists named

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Chancellor Dwight Watson has announced five finalists for the position of provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs.

A 11-member search-and-screen committee, co-chaired by Frank Goza, dean of the College of Letters and Sciences, and Artanya Wesley, vice chancellor for student affairs, recommended the slate of finalists to Watson after a national search.

The five candidates will visit the university and participate in public forums, offering opportunities for faculty, staff, students and community members to learn about and interact with the finalists. More information on the format and the specific dates and times of the forums — as well as the mechanism for providing feedback on the candidates — will be shared soon.

The finalists are, listed in the order they will visit campus:

• Jeanine Gangeness, associate vice president for academic affairs at Rochester, Winona State University, March 7-9.

• David Travis, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs and student success at UW-River Falls, March 10-12.

• Daniel Moon, associate provost for academic and student affairs at the University of North Florida, March 14-16.

• John Chenoweth, dean of the College of Business and Economics at UW-Whitewater, March 17-19.

• La Vonne Cornell-Swanson, associate provost for faculty and student affairs at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, March 21-23.
