Fort Atkinson Beautification Council President Jude Hartwick has announced that the beautification council is seeking volunteers to help assemble this year’s community holiday lights display along the Glacial River Bike Path.
The display runs parallel to Janesville Avenue and has, in past years, been associated with the “Magic on Janesville Avenue” event which has traditionally included holiday activities hosted at Jones Market and along the bike path.
According to information recently released by Hartwick, volunteers are asked to assemble this Saturday, at 9 a.m., at Jones Market, 601 Jones Ave., Fort Atkinson.
Volunteers are asked to bring a pair of scissors, a knife or wire cutters. The tools will be used to cut zip ties, the release stated.
Beauty and the Bean will be on hand to provide free coffee and donuts to volunteers, the release continued.
Additionally, Hartwick invites volunteers to assemble at Jones Market at 9:30 a.m. for a group photograph.
Jones Market Sales and Marketing Manager Mariah Hadler said Friday that plans this year call for the lights display to be expanded from Sixth to Seventh streets, with additional plans, over the next few years, to expand the display as far as Lions Park.
Those assembling for a photograph Saturday also may include representatives of businesses and organizations who have made contributions to the community light display, Hadler said, noting that a list, to date, includes: Jones Dairy Farm, BKS Dental, Paddy’s Paws, the Schafer Family, Paddy Coughlin’s Irish Pub, JM Carpets, Wayne Hayes Real Estate, W&A Distribution Services, Inc., 1062 Saloon, Rotary Club, Abendroth Water Conditioning, Surgical Associates, Raughn Ferrell and Brad Wilcox, Karole Yonker, Pete’s Tire, Dan and Kris Lee, Rock River Optical, Fort Community Credit Union, Debra Rusch, Edward Jones, Blodgett’s Garden Center, Nasco, Premier Bank, IPEC, Festival Foods, and Opportunities, Inc.
