‘What’s up? with Michael Clish’ episodes available on Jefferson’s public access channel

The City of Jefferson Public Access Channel 987 this week will be airing four episodes of “What’s up? with Michael Clish.”

Each episode includes Michael and his guest or guests as they explore a topic of interest, including: Fort Atkinson poet Lorine Niedecker’s life and work; “No Mow May,” an initiative undertaken last spring in the city of Fort Atkinson as facilitated by the nonprofit group Heart of the City, to help create habitat for pollinators; Grow Solar in Jefferson and Waukesha counties, a group buy initiative focused on making solar energy affordable to area home and business owners, and changes in the news, featuring a discussion between Michael and a former managing editor of the Daily Jefferson County Union, which was also the first episode of What’s up? produced by FortAtkinsonOnline.com.

The episodes will air beginning Tuesday, Jan. 11, through Sunday, Jan. 16, using the following schedule:

• 6:01 p.m., What’s up? with Michael Clish, featuring a discussion with Friends of Lorine Niedecker President Ann Engelman. The 18-minute episode focuses on the life of Niedecker, the newest of three murals painted late last year on a downtown Fort Atkinson building featuring on of her poems, and the importance of her work.

• 6:20 p.m., What’s up? with Michael Clish, featuring a 15-minute discussion with several members of the nonprofit community-oriented group Heart of the City, as they explain the benefits of helping pollinating creatures, like bees and butterflies, to thrive in the spring by encouraging the growth of forage and habitat.

• 6:35 p.m., What’s up? with Michael Clish, featuring a 22-minute panel discussion between Michael and three guests all of whom lend perspective to the value and process involved with installing solar panels on a home or business.
