The Whitewater Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that it is seeking nominations for several awards.
According to a recent news release, each year the chamber recognizes the work, commitment, and engagement of businesses, organizations and individuals in the Whitewater community with awards and accolades during an annual dinner and celebration.
The chamber bestows honors through the Good Neighbor Award, Service Excellence Award, Lifetime Impact Award, Community Spirit Award, and Discover Whitewater Tourism Award, the release noted.
The chamber is encouraging members of the community to submit nominations for these awards. A deadline to submit nominations is Feb. 28.
Help from the community is being sought, the release stated, because “community members often have the best opportunity to witness the excellence of those they nominate.”
Members of the Whitewater community can submit their nominations using a google form found here: https://forms.gle/hVxypiC2jAMJVyRL7.
In addition, the release noted that the Whitewater Area Chamber of Commerce was incorporated in March of 1942 and is an organization dedicated to helping Whitewater area businesses and the community thrive.
On April 21st, the release continued, the chamber will be hosting its Annual Awards and Celebration Dinner to commemorate 80 years of serving businesses and the community.
Members of the community who are interested in helping the chamber create a visual timeline display of its history are inviting to share photos, documents and mementos depicting the chamber’s activities over the past eight decades.
