Whitewater High School Principal Michael Lovenberg has resigned according to information released Monday by the Whitewater Unified School District.
His resignation is effective June 30.
According to the release, Lovenberg has served as the high school principal since 2017.
“I would like to thank the Whitewater Unified School District for the opportunity to be the principal of Whitewater High School for the past five years. I have enjoyed working with the staff, students and families of Whitewater High School and wish the community of Whitewater nothing but the best,” Lovenberg was quoted as saying in the release.
The Whitewater Unified School District has officially begun its search for the next Whitewater High School principal.
The district anticipates that a new principal would begin in that role in July, the release noted.
Interested candidates should apply on WECAN.
According to the release, the district plans to hold listening sessions with members of the High School staff, as well as communicate with the community through a survey.
Candidates will be interviewed by teams composed of administrators, school board representatives and staff, and students will be invited to participate, the release continued.
“The district is committed to a thorough and informed process with hopes of finalizing this decision in a timely manner in order to secure the best individual and appropriate preparation for the 2022-23 school year,” the release read.
