The Irvin L. Young Memorial Library in Whitewater is hosting several crafting activities and a storytelling festival during October.
“October Crafts” for adults will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, in the library’s Community Room.
Craft times for kids will take place at 4:30 p.m. on two Mondays, Oct. 11 and 25, at the library.
The Irvin L. Young Memorial Library also will host the Whitewater Storytelling Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Cravath Lakefront Park picnic shelter.
Members of the public is invited to share their story at the festival. The library will be collecting oral stories and spur-of-the-moment interviews with storytellers and community members.
All are welcome to participate. They may respond to a prompt prepared by the library or come with a topic in mind. They could tell a story or recount an experience or share their perspective and help capture the unique identity of the Whitewater community.
