Whitewater: Recycling event to be held May 21

A Whitewater recycling event will be held Saturday, May 21.

According to information released by the city’s Public Works department, the event will take place between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Lot B, located across from the city’s Train Depot Museum and the Cravath Lakefront. 

Some costs associated with recycling include: TVs, $20; old tube CRT Computer Monitors, $10, and microwaves and exercise equipment, $5.

Items accepted for recycling at the event include: computers, monitors, laptops, printers, circuit boards, servers, modems, scanners, hard drives, keyboards, mice, UPS backup batteries, cell phone batteries, printers, tablets, cables/wires, power supplies, electronic test equipment, cell and office phones, among others. 

All appliances, with or without Freon, also are accepted. 

Fees must be paid by cash or check only, according to the release.
