Woman’s Club to offer free plants at farmers market

The Fort Atkinson Woman’s Club has announced it will be giving away an assortment of plants at the Fort Atkinson Farmers Market, Saturday May 21.

Those interested in the free plants are encouraged to visit the club’s booth, where they will find “everything from red bud trees, climbing roses, rose bushes, hostas, lillies, ferns and house plants,” according to information released by the club.

“Members have been culling their gardens for plants to share,” the release noted.

While plants are free, donations are kindly accepted, the release stated.

Monies collected are used to help support scholarship funds and other club initiatives.

This year, according to the release, two $1,000 scholarships were made available by the club with further proceeds used to support the Hoard Historical Museum and the Homeless Coalition of Fort Atkinson. Each organization received $500 to be used toward community improvements, the release read.
