Young entrepreneurs participating in “Lemonade Day” set up stands Saturday in Fort Atkinson’s Barrie Park.
Stands came with creative names such as “Pig-a-Juice” and “Sunny Day,” and featured themes such as the Super Mario Brothers and Pikachu.
Organized by the Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce and in its third year in Fort Atkinson, the young entrepreneurs were aided by organizations within the community which sponsored workshops, teaching the children how to finance, construct and prepare recipes in advance of Saturday’s selling opportunity.
Lemonade Day is meant to give budding entrepreneurs a chance to explore the ins and outs of building and running a business, according to its organizers.
Workshop sponsors included Jones Market, Fort Community Credit Union, Johnson Financial, Builders FirstSource, and the Badgerland After School Enrichment program or BASE.
Participation by interested youth in the program was free.
Additional supporters of this year’s event included: 2 Rivers Bicycle and Outdoor, Badger Bank, Homes for Independent Living in Fort Atkinson and Watertown, JM Carpets Flooring Design Center, Johnson Financial Group, NextHome Success, Paddy Coughlin’s Pub, PremierBank, Topcon Positioning Systems, and Rock River Dental, according to information released by the chamber.

Sponsors included TopCon and Mr. Brew’s, Fort Atkinson, and Chandler House Banker, Watertown. The stand was further supported with a loan from Fort Community Credit Union.
