Editor’s note: Jefferson County does not have a mask mandate/ordinance per se. However, health officials are strongly recommending that residents continue to wear facemasks in public to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

My husband and I applaud Jefferson County on its decision to continue a mask mandate. Unfortunately, the Leadership of Waukesha County does not have that wisdom or foresight. But our family will continue to set an example and do our small part by masking, distancing and encouraging vaccination.
Jefferson County continues to be a leader in the state!
