Following yesterday’s deadline for candidates’ names to be placed on the upcoming spring general election ballot, Fort Atkinson City Clerk Michelle Ebbert noted by email that three incumbents — Bruce Johnson, Eric Schultz and Davin Lescohier — will be the only names to appear to fill three seats on the city council.
Additionally, the city’s municipal judge, Charles Frandson, has filed a Notification of Non-candidacy form with the city clerk’s office. No challengers have come forward to run for the open seat.
City council members each serve two-year, at-large terms.
The city’s municipal judge serves a four-year term.
Within the release, city officials noted that while the deadline for inclusion on the printed ballot has passed, write-in candidates can still come forward.
Those with interest in running as a write-in candidate are encouraged to contact the city clerk’s office by phone: 920-397-9901.

As no candidate took out nomination papers for Municipal Judge, I intend to register as a write-in candidate and if elected would continue my 14 years of service.
